You should begin this module by reading carefully Chapters 2 and
3 in Black's text (Learn, 9-23). Do not be too concerned about
understanding everything you read in Chapter 2. This chapter summarizes a lot of
information that you may not fully learn even after having completed an entire
semester of Greek. However, you should attempt to grasp fully the contents of
Chapter 3. The module notes on this website will attempt to clarify and expand upon Black's
treatment in Chapter 3.
From this point on in our course I will also include an audio introduction to the vocabulary that must
be learned for that module.
Do not attempt to do the exercises without
knowing the vocabulary. Otherwise you will find yourself constantly looking up
words instead of concentrating on the grammatical or morphological recognition
skills that you need to learn.
