Gamma Module: Second Declension Nouns

In this module you will be introduced to the Greek nominal system, and in particular the second declension.

Orientation
Begin by reading Chapter 4 in Black, Learn (24-31).

You may also want to get a broader overview of all the parts of speech, as well as a primer for Greek syntax, by reading Chapters 1 and 2 in our supplemental text, Black's It's Still Greek to Me (hereafter, Still Greek).

I would urge you to acquaint yourself with this module's vocabulary before you read the Gamma Module Notes; and, of course, you will want to fully memorize the vocabulary before you tackle any exercises.

What you learn in this module about case functions, as well as the morphology of second declension nouns, is foundational to many succeeding chapters. So if you aim at complete mastery of the material in this module, there will be less work ahead of you later on.
