Lambda Module: Perfect Middle/Passive and Future Middle Indicative

Here we will learn more indicative verbs built upon the primary middle suffixes: the perfect middle/passive and future middle indicative.

Orientation

In this modules both the perfect middle/passive indicative and the future middle indicative will be taken up. The reason for this combination is that both of them are formed from the primary middle suffixes.

Therefore, the morphology in this module will be quite easy to master: First, because (as has already been mentioned) both of these indicative verb types are built upon the primary middle suffixes, which you have already learned. What's more, secondly, is that the perfect middle/passive indicative suffixes are identical to the primary middle suffixes. Finally, the future middle indicative suffixes are identical to the present middle indicative suffixes, except that in the future there is a sigma-infix.

You will also complete your knowledge of the the entire conjugation of EIMI in the indicative mood with the introduction of the future indicative of EIMI. This, too, will be a breeze to learn, because it is based upon the primary middle suffixes.

The module will be rounded out with a couple other odds and ends. We will not repeat or supplement Black's lucid discussions about the simplest formation of adverbs in Greek, nor about the idiomatic use of me,n and de,. However, there will be some additional material about future middle deponents here to which you will do well to pay attention. Observe also in this connection that there are additional vocabulary words for you to learn.
